I hate the fact that I have been using a chin beard to offset my getting older saggy underchin, but I have to admit to the fact that that is exactly what I have been doing.

I see these other guys rolling around, using beards to define chinlines that simply are not there and I think, “Ha, ha!  At least I’m not like that shleb.”  Unfortunately, it appears as though I am just like that shleb.

Doing stand-up, there are many more occasions where I see myself on camera.  Going through life, looking in the mirror and what you have, I think that I’m a fairly handsome fellow, but seeing my face in action, actually doing things, make the face shapes required to form words?  What a mush head I am.

Beyond that, I noticed that my chin beard was shaped oddly.  It was like, a circle or something.  Looking dead on, straight at my face, it looked fine.  But from angles?  It was like I had carved some religious symbol onto my chin.  I was not looking for that kind of a look.

Letting in meander out from the center of my face seemed to be the way to resolve the issue.  Less round in shape would be good.  I wanted to have something like the Green Arrow.

Other than the blondeness, this is what I was going for.

I did not achieve this.

Not sure what it was I did achieve, but I didn’t like it a whole lot so I shaved it all off.

Now, I have the mushy underchin

It runs in the family though.  My father has had a beard for most of my life.  I remember he shaved it off once and I was like, egad, what happened to my father? He ran through the kitchen one time and I barely caught sight of him.  Then, I did not see him again for some time. Not until he had rebearded himself.

So the question is, do I deal with the mushy underchin that is apparently genetic and be proud because I’m not attempting to camouflage my faceshape or do I carefully go back to something similar to what I had before or do I go father and just megabeard?  MEGABEARD!!!??
